American actess/model Uma Thurman grew up in a highly unorthodox and Eurocentric family in Boston. She's named after the goddess of light and beauty in the Indian Mythology. She made her action movie debut as femme fatale Laura in the thriller ''Kiss Daddy Goodnight'' (1987). Laura has a baby-face and dresses up as a vamp at night. She selects random guys in bars in order to rob them. She  gets troubles when she is stalked by a person, who has killed a close girlfriend.

She plays Maid Marion who's the love interest of the legendary outlaw Robin Hood (played by Patrick Bergin ) in ''Robin Hood'' (1991). Maid Marian has a "shepherdess" figure and is associated by the image of Virgin Mary. Robin and his group of bandits steal from the rich and give the money to the poor. Maid Marion is kidnapped by the men of Prince John (played by Edward Fox) and Robin Hood and his gang try to rescue her.

She plays ministry agent Emma Peel, who's also scientist and martial arts expert in ''The Avengers'' (1998). Mrs. Emma Peel is the second female partner of ministry agent John Steed (played by Ralph Fiennes) who wears leather catsuits and stretchier jersey-fabric outfits. The pregnant Beatrix is shot by Bill's (played by David Carradine) Deadly Viper assassination squad during her wedding at the wedding chapel. She falls in coma and awakens four years later. Beatrix has sworn to take revenge against Bill and his Deadly Viper Assassination Squad after discovering that she is not pregnant. She travels to Okinawa in Japan, where her first target Tokyo Yakuza leader O-Ren Ishii (played by Lucy Liu) is. Beatrix fights against O-Ren's bodyguards and a Yakuza army in order to take revenge. She is determined to kill all opponents one by one.

She plays Rachel next to Ben Affleck who plays the lead role as engineer Michael Jennings in ''Paycheck'' (2003). Michael is a brilliant computer engineer whose short term memory is routinely erased. He can't divulge any information of the top secret projects of his work. He gets a job offer for 2 or 3 years by billionaire James Rethrick, where he gets an amount of more then 90 million dollars. He gets this payment for a specific project, when he attempts to figure out what happened to him in his obscured past while his memory has been erased. He teams up with his old flame Rachel, who helps him to uncover the mystery of his past.

She plays ''The Bride'' Beatrix Kiddo again who is described as "the deadliest woman in the world" in the sequel ''Kill Bill: Vol. 2'' (2004). Beatrix is still hunting for her former lover Bill (played by David Carradine), who still the leader is of the Deadly Viper assassination squad. She has already killed former Deadly Viper members Vernita Green (played by Vivica A. Fox) and O-Ren Ishii (played by Lucy liu). She kills former Deadly Viper members Budd (played by Michael Madsen) and Elle Driver (played by Daryl Hannah) first, before she tracks down Bill on the Mexican countryside. She discovers that her daughter B.B. (played by Perla Haney-Jardine) is still alive. She kills Bill first before she flees with B.B. in order to start an new life together.
